What were the Plays Of The Game today? Discuss in the comments below:
We had four new guys show up last Saturday and though all of them played well, only one can earn the Play Of The Day.
That honor went to Terrence for his body of work, which included two snipes for length-of-the-field interception returns for touchdowns.
The Play Of The Day goes to Elijah for sneaking into the corner by the flag to snare a lofted pass for a touchdown all alone at the corner flag.
Russian takes the Play of the Day last Saturday for extending high with one hand and palming an interception, then juking across the field for a score.
James earned the Play Of The Day on Saturday for a pair of interception returns for scores.
James team was defending their goal from the fifteen yard line when James jumped a route for his second interception and angled toward the sideline, following block along the way, before passing the final defender and outrunning him the length of the field for his second pick-six of the day and a victory for his team.
Ned (The Hand) had more than a couple passes batted at the line for on his ferocious rushes but he is mentioned here not because of that stellar play but for his honesty. On a pass for which he appeared to have made a fantastic catch just above the ground and which looked to be a certain reception to all who saw it, Ned admitted that the ball hit the ground.
For his honesty, Ned gets HONORABLE mention.
The teams had battled it out to a one-to-one draw in a three-game series and Jojuan’s team needed only one more score to win. His team was knocking at the door of his opponent’s 10 yard line.
Jojuan was lined up out wide and made his way to the back corner of the end zone but was blanketed by two defenders.
The quarterback threw the ball anyway and he threw it high, seemingly out of reach. But Jojuan went up uP UP UP and caught the ball over the two defenders and held on with a vice grip to score not just the winning touchdown but series winner.
The Kid–sorry, didn’t catch his name–scooted away with the Play Of The Day last Saturday on his first day out for a heads-up play on defense.
The opposing team began their drive at the goal line with a short pass that looked to result in a short gain. But as the receiver was crossing the middle of the field a defender poked the ball from his grasp. The ball skidded between two players as they dove for it but The Kid was there to scoop it up and, expertly following his blocks, stepped left, jumped right, took a couple of short steps forward, and weaved through a lane to the end zone for the score.
Ty hauled in the Play Of Day last Saturday by hauling in a tipped ball for which he perfectly positioned himself.
As a teammate and a defender went up for a long ball tossed high, Ty overran the jump to be in place to snare the tipped ball without breaking stride on his way to the end zone.
